Skip Europe This Summer
If you’re thinking about a summer 2024 trip to Europe, you should have started planning that a few months ago…expect crowds in Europe this summer, especially due to some major events like the Paris Olympics or Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
So where else might you consider going this summer if you want the feel of a European holiday without the crowds (and the long flight)?
Go to Canada! And specifically, Montreal.
Known for its culinary scene, picturesque landscapes, and European sensibility, Montreal in the summer is an ideal destination! It’s a highly walkable city with easy public transportation and the second-largest number of restaurants per capita in North America behind New York.

This is probably what I am most excited about when I think about going to Montreal. Here you can find a mix of high-end and casual fare that is sure to delight. Stroll through Vieux-Montreal and you’ll feel like you just arrived in Paris!
