Fall Travel Inspiration

We’ve talked about the benefits of traveling during shoulder season before - fewer crowds, better availability, and mild weather are just a few. With Spring right around the corner, we thought we would highlight a few destinations that are ideal for Fall travel.

Ibiza

If you are looking for a warm weather getaway, head to this island at the end of the season for perfect weather with fewer crowds. Late September and October can be wonderful times to enjoy Ibiza and you won’t worry about the summer party crowds. Stay at 7Pines Ibiza and enjoy a sense of calm at this luxury resort.

Other Mediterranean destinations are worth considering for the Fall as well - Southern France, Italy, Croatia, and Greece are all places that will still be somewhat warm in late September-October. And you’ll get to enjoy fewer crowds in these very popular places!

Chile and Argentina

In South America, Fall is when the weather will start heating up (and marks the start of the high season). Rather than head to Europe for a cultural and culinary destination, travel down to Chile. Spend a few days in Santiago before traveling into the Andes Mountains for your stay at Vik Chile. You’ll be surrounded by vineyards and able to relax at this beautiful hotel’s pool and outdoor terraces as temperatures rise. Go in mid to late October before the busy season truly starts.

Or consider traveling to nearby Argentina, exploring Buenos Aires with mild temperatures and slightly smaller crowds. We’ll be traveling there this Fall for the first time exploring the city’s unique architecture, street food, arts, culture, and more.

Japan

You might be tired of me talking about Japan, but it’s an ideal destination for Fall. Although a lot of people like to travel there in Spring to peep at the cherry blossoms, Japan in autumn is truly beautiful. Go in October or early November for mild weather and stunning scenery. And unlike cherry blossom season, you won’t have to ‘guess’ when the fall foliage will appear (and you’ll be able to see it for longer)! You’ll definitely want to spend time in Kyoto as the foliage will be absolutely stunning around the city’s many palaces and shrines. Stay at our favorite Ritz-Carlton KyotoWe expect demand for travel to Japan to continue at high levels through the rest of the year, so if you’re serious about making plans for this Fall, let’s start talking now!

Costa Rica

Avoid the busy season around the holidays and travel to Costa Rica in the fall - you’ll have great tropical weather without the hurricane concerns of the Caribbean. Opt for a beachy retreat at the Andaz Papagayo or head deeper into the rainforest for hot springs, volcano trekking and sloth stalking in Arenal with a few nights at Nayara Tented Camp

USA

Perhaps you’re thinking about a getaway closer to home? There are a number of US cities that are ideal for Fall travel - great weather, fall colors, and/or just a lot to do! A few destinations we love for Fall are Nashville, New York, New Orleans, Savannah, and Santa Fe. Whether you are looking for a couples trip or a long weekend getaway with friends or family, consider one of these cities for your next Fall trip. And we have quite a roster of preferred hotel partners in all of these cities - let us make your trip even more special by adding some exclusive perks and benefits.
